The brass plaque beside the door seemed far heavier than its weight in metal, as though it carried all the expectations, traditions, and whispered stories that had made her hesitate. Standing on the pavement outside the gentlemen's club, she felt her pulse quicken. The building itself appeared imposing, untouched by the rush of the modern world. She wondered what waited beyond those polished wooden doors. Would she be welcomed? Judged? Merely tolerated? The uncertainty settled like a knot in her stomach, tightening with every passing second.

He stood beside her, calm and reassuring, as though he sensed every anxious thought racing through her mind. He offered a warm smile and gently placed his hand on her lower back. "You're with me," he said softly. "There's nothing to worry about." His presence became an anchor amid the sea of unknowns. While her imagination filled the unseen interior with stern faces and unspoken rules, his confidence reminded her that most fears grew larger before they were faced. Taking a steadying breath, she followed him inside.

The club's interior was not at all what she had expected. Instead of cold scrutiny, she found elegance. Instead of hostility there was polite nods and courteous greetings. Yet the nervousness did not disappear immediately. She remained acutely aware of being somewhere unfamiliar, a guest in a world she had only heard about. Every room revealed another layer of history, another custom she didn't yet understand. Through it all, he stayed close, not hovering, but present whenever she needed reassurance. Gradually, her apprehension softened into curiosity. The unknown that had seemed so intimidating outside the door was becoming something else entirely, a new experience that she shared with someone she trusted.
