When I was younger we lived out in the middle of nowhere. Back then you were able to walk in the dark and knew exactly where you were going. The moonlight would light the way and if the skies were clear you could see the stars.
My parents were big on parties and our neighbours would be invited. My mum would spend all her time in the kitchen preparing a pot of soup and stovies, or if she fancied cooking a curry then that's we had. I was never allowed to sit with the adults and would always have to go to my room. I didn't mind that much, because when the music got a little louder and the laughter was roaring through the house me and my sister would get up and head on downstairs to join the party. The kitchen was the room I loved the most in the house. It was always the life and soul of the party, people would congregate there. Still eating the leftover curry, soup or stovies, refilling their glasses, telling jokes and laughter would always ring the air....
