The Gateway

He had searched for years, searching harder than his father and grandfather before him had searched. He needed to find the truth that there was indeed a gateway out there that would take him to higher grounds.

He had travelled the four corners of the globe seeking truth. Following clues in the journals that his father and grandfather left him. His drive and determination was apparent in his quest.

He had been pointed in the direction of some forbidden land, armed with only a machete and the journals he moved swiftly, his heart was thudding, there was a charge in the air and he knew that he was close.

Stepping through a clearance, he saw it, falling to his knees he would weep. His journey had ended and he was here. Only once he had finished weeping would he wipe away his tears. The Gateway was there in front of him and he relished in its beauty. The air was charged in a way that you would feel during an electrical storm.

Placing his machete on the ground along with his journals he would stand. Moving slowly towards the portal, this life changing portal.... Glancing at the relics and ruins next to it, he would step through the gateway......
