Unexpected Places

I joined SL almost 11 years ago. Ten years and ten months to be exact. It's a really funny story on how I came across this weird and wonderful alternate life, let me tell you about it.

A friend and myself were sitting at work, reading a newspaper when a story caught our eye. It was about a couple who had met inworld, they had gotten engaged and then married. Soon, they met up in real life, got engaged and then married. You hoped that they would live happily ever after, right? Wrong.

The woman was divorcing her husband on the grounds of adultery. This wasn't normal go out and have an affair with Sandra (no offence to Sandras, I think they are all wonderful), this was go to an escort club in SL and pay the girl to give him attention. The wife was livid! Anyway, so me and my friend read about this and we were nosy. We began to research what SL was. We soon discovered that you could actually earn money from the game. Then our bet began. My friend (who was male) bet me £10 that he could make more money in the game than me. So we shook on it, went home that night and downloaded the game.

After a month I had earned about 1000L$ and he had made about 200L$. I think it was safe to say I won. How did we earn this money? He found camping chairs that paid out when you sat on them for hours on end. Me? Well I researched more money and found that being a stripper with my flexi hair and clothes, I could earn more. He no longer plays SL, but I continued, becoming heavily involved in urban RP sims. A dabble of building, singing in SL, DJ'ing, dancing in a dance troupe. Now I like to decorate sims, houses, trailers. I love to blog and I have been honoured with blogging for my favourite creators in SL.

I have been blessed in SL with building amazing relationships, I have a lot of people I do call friends. In my RL I have a very stressful job and my release is coming into SL and hanging with people and doing everything I love doing. I would say I am socially introverted, so this still allows me to be sociable without the awkwardness.

I love this saying in the picture "Life takes you to unexpected places. Love brings you home."

Whatever you do here in SL, be safe and above all, have fun (",)
